If you don’t speak several languages you may want to skip Prime Video

I am in the process of trying Amazon Prime Video on my Telstra TV. I have both version 1 and 2 of Telstra TV and am trying it on both.
So for the price it is good value. Much cheaper than Netflix or Stan but with a smaller catalogue. It’s cheaper if you pay by the year and has extra benefits for delivery discounts when buying from Amazon.
There is plenty of good shows, quite a few originals and some new release movies. American Gods, The Tick and Good Omens are just the start of many good shows that make spending with Amazon worth while. Is there enough for a years viewing is hard to say so you may want to think over a full years subscription.
The streaming I find very good. Fast start up with no buffering and no Ads (did you hear that FoxteL)’ The catalogue is easy to browse and you can choose through categories under movies or television.
The biggest problem is if you don’t speak several languages you may want to skip Prime Video. Watching a series such as Jack Ryan where around half the show is in a foriegn language it becomes very frustrating. There are no subtitles. You can choose Closed Captions but it brings up the printed foriegn language so you are no better off. I looked on discussion groups and this is a common problem world wide.
I cannot believe a company as big as Amazon could be this silly. It is the reason I will not continue past my free trial. I truly hope they wake up to this before the Middle Earth series as I really would like to watch it. Maybe they will read this but I think not.
