You Yangs Regional Park
The You Yangs protect a range of habitats for wildlife. More than 200 species of birds have been recorded in the area. Mammals such as kangaroos, koalas, sugar gliders, brushtail and ringtail possums are also commonly seen.

The Heights Heritage House and Garden
Early 1860s plantings still dominate this beautiful Geelong garden today and the aged oaks and conifers provide great delight to visitors. Garden or self -guided garden walks are available. The house and ‘old world' garden at the heights dates back to the 1850's.

Barwon Grange
The garden complements the house with a Victorian fountain. Lawns sloping down to the Barwon River are planted with species from a mid 19th century plant catalogue . Self-guided garden walks are available.

Eastern Beach
Art-deco swimming pool and park complex off Ritchie Boulevard and Eastern Beach Road . Built in the 1930s, the park and pools have become City landmarks, drawing crowds for more than 60 years. Geelong 's Historic Botanic Gardens
Centrally located within Eastern Park and have recently undergone a $2 million redevelopment. Rippleside Park
One of the region's most-visited open spaces. It boasts an attractive outlook beside Corio Bay with views back to the city and down the bay towards the Bellarine Peninsula . Also in the picture is the local tug fleet, berthed at a nearby pier.
Balyang Sanctuary
One of the earliest rejuvenation projects proposed to create a bird haven and picnic ground on the Newtown side of the river, beside Princes Bridge . It involved draining the swamp, deepening the lake, tree plantings and significant landscaping of the area. It also created three islands, two of which are linked by bridges. The third is a nesting place for the native birds.
Geelong Art Gallery
A series of exhibition catalogues have been published which document the lives and artwork of colonial artists working in Geelong and the Western District. The collection is housed in an early 20th century building with an imposing classical facade.
