We all want to loose weight for many reasons but most come under fitness, health, or appearance. It is not enjoyable being over weight and the worst part is how we fool ourselves. We very seldom see ourselves the way we really are. The two tools that take away our illusions are an accurate scale and a tape measure. Personally I hate them but together they really do show exactly what is going on.
Loosing weight is considered a basic equation. Less energy coming in than going out. You need to eat less and exercise more. The problem is we are not a basic equation, if we were, we wouldn't be fat in the first place. We are emotional, stressed, overworked, unloved, unappreciated, etc. So our problem is a lot more than just food consumption. Firstly admit you are fat - I am. Not big boned, solid build or any other illusion - you're fat.
It's astounding how many diseases are now being linked to obesity - it really is scary. It is very important to get back to a healthy weight and most of the time you won't do it alone. There are many ways weight loss, with the most popular being adjustments to eating patterns and increased physical exercise. Health professionals will usually recommend a reduction of the caloric content of the diet, with an increase in physical activity. Some of the other methods of losing weight include medications and supplements that decrease appetite , reduce or block fat absorption, or reduce stomach volume. Bariatric surgery (laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding (LAGB), Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) and biliopancreatic diversion) artificially reduces the size of the stomach, limiting the intake of food.
Nobody has the right to judge others and you must find the best weight loss method for you. The first step is to realise how precious you are to the world and the people around you. Look at what life would be like if you lost the weight, then when you realise how important it is find the best method for you. Don't concern yourself with failure or going off track. It's not how often you get knocked down that is important but how many times you get back up.
