Reflexology has been used for many centuries. The method of reflexology, also called “zone therapy”, dates back to ancient Egypt, India and China. Evidence of reflexology has even been found in tombs in Egypt. The method of reflexology works by stimulating and applying pressure to certain parts of the hands, or to the feet.

Understanding Reflexology
Reflexology is the application of pressure, stretches and movement to the feet and hands to affect corresponding parts of the body. By applying certain techniques it can be used to reduce stress in the body. It is not just a massage. Reflexology concentrates on strategic zones within the feet and hands which correspond to the nervous system.

A reflexologist mostly works with the feet, although there are other reflexology regions including the hands and ears. The system of reflexology has been around since ancient Egypt. Reflexology points are used to stimulate energy for other areas of the body such as the major organs. There are several diferent systems of reflexology including Zone Therapy and Reflexognosy.
Darwin
