Are all naturopathy courses the same?  Not a bit, in fact they range from the fantastic to the alarming and everything in between.  First you need to think of what type of naturopath you want to be.  If you think there aren't different types of naturopaths, you had better do a lot more research before enrolling.

Naturopathy is quite a general term covering many modalities.  Originally treatment was healthy food, exercise and fresh air.  Now a naturopath is trained in western medical sciences and several natural therapy modalities.  Most specialise in one modality such as homeopathy or herbal medicine.

Most courses are a degree course taking around four years of full time study but there are still some offering advanced diplomas.  Although most naturopathy courses are run by private education colleges they are usually linked to a university to allow you to complete your degree.

Although many colleges allow you to take the direction that interests you (perhaps nutrition or herbs), some courses are set on a definite path not allowing any freedom to pursue a modality of your choice.

If you think it doesn't matter, think again.   So many graduates complain they found their course too general (plenty of general knowledge but not enough on one subject) and end up spending a lot more on post graduate courses for the knowledge they never got.  P. S.  If the course is not government accredited - don't do it.
